Standard drill for holes for carriage bolts. You could use threaded rod through the entire thicknesd of the wall and post, with backing plate on the brick backside.

The way we did it would not work with a steel roof and snow load. If you were to cantilever the beam beyond the posts, you might get away without center posts at all, but at significant risk to warping, bowing and potential instability. I would set my posts on 12' centers and cantilever 4' on each side. The moon is timeless, mysterious, and beautiful. Cantilevers are best utilised in areas where having a lot of posts is not practical. However my council also states that anything higher than 3m needs a permit, so id double check with your council re heights.
